Something I just noticed from the FTS way of life !
« on: March 04, 2011, 11:12:00 AM »
I new pretty soon that the FTS way of life cured my terrible reflux problem . I was having to take antacids everynight before bed . But what I realized today Is it has helped my Sinus Headaches that I got frequently and that were very severe similar to migraines .

I had 2 sinus surgeries to help them but they always came back pretty quickly .

I dont think I have had one since Sept now that I think about it . Would low carb help sinus problems or WTH ? , maybe it was not even sinus maybe it was from the SUGAR , For years I have suffered from those 3 day headaches .
One thing is for sure I will never stop the FTS lifestyle even if I never lose another pound (which of course we all know I want to lose another pound )LOL . But the way I feel and My Type 1 sons insulin going from 10-20 units a meal 5 years ago to 2-8 units a meal now is reason to stay with it more important then the weight loss.

Doug /Umpa Tylers Lunch was a pizza made with the low carb tortilla and a apple which he took 4 units of insulin ,his
supper last night was Jicama fries, bacon cheeseburger (no bun) ,& serving of low carb ice cream he took 2 units of insulin !!!!!

Just wanted to pass this along  To let people that are just starting with Diabetes type 2 you can wipe out and Type one you can lower your insulin levels & even your sugar out ,he has fells so much better when his sugar is not up & down . He will always have to struggle but when he eats FTS it is easier for him . One day it will be every meal for him .  He is still a stubborn male teen . LOL

Hi Jo!  :)

If you think about it, most things that are poison to us have more than one negative effect.
On other low carb blogs, I've read about so many different ailments disappearing (or least improving) by living low carb.

It's wonderful hearing about your son's insulin reduction!
I'm so happy for you guys!!! :) :) :) :)
What you do today is what matters!

Jo I really have to give Tyler credit here. For all you that are new here Jo's son is a diabetic(type 1) teenager who has take control of his life and educated himself and has greatly reduced his intake of insulin. He has also been our guinea pig when someone has a product that they say is low carb.Tylers blood sugar never lies!Jo has also done a great job teaching her son along with herself the truth about sugar and diabeties.I am very proud of both of you. ;D
