Hi Denise, welcome to the family! Protein drinks are fine as long as they contain zero hidden sugars. I prefer dense protein in the form of meats, fish, poultry and soy for my protein. This way the body has to rev up to digest it increasing metabolism.  ;)

Hi Denise!  :)

There are tons of protein drinks available.
I will have one occasionally as a snack.

Just be VERY careful when buying them!... Many are very high in carbs.

To me, they do not make good meal replacements because they just don't "stick to the ribs".
You feel deprived very soon after drinking them.
This is why those silly protein shake diets don't work.

If you base your mealtime protein sources on dense proteins like Doug mentioned PLUS cheeses, you will be satisfied for a much longer time.  ;)
What you do today is what matters!

Hope it is Ok to make a suggestion.  Since being diagnosed with Celiacs Disease I was able to find a gluten free, low carb protein shake that actually has the best credentials in the body building industry.  It is the Jay Robb Whey protein shake.  It is made using stevia and has only 1 carb per serving.  You can mix it with water, milk, or coconut milk to keep the carbs low.  So do your own research and see what you think.  You can buy individual packet to try it at Vitamin Shopppe. Hope this is helpful :)
