Sugar Free - Still high Carbs?
« on: May 03, 2010, 11:01:09 AM »
I am wondering why foods such as chocolate and candies that are sugar free, still have such a high carb count?

Look at the label, do you see the "Sugar Alcohols" this is the sweetener used to sweeten the product in place of the sugar. The difference is they have little or no affect on blood sugar. They are listed in total carbs on the label however as instructed in FAT TO SKINNY you subtract them along with any dietary fiber to arrive at net carbs.

Don't eat too much...stick to the serving size or you'll experience flatulence
