« on: April 19, 2011, 10:31:39 PM »
I was just a the store looking at things for my vegetable garden when I came across Stevia Plants in the herb section.  I was wondering if anyone knows how you would use it?  ??? Umpa have you seen or used this?  I thought I would check before I got some.

I love to shred Stevia leaves in recipes where I want to add a bit of sweet, they are wonderful in salads too. Dry them and crumple them up, add them to your coffee grounds to add some sweet or in your tea strainer to sweeten teas. As a dried processed herb they can be sprinkled on any dish. I like just picking a leaf and chewing on it :)

Stevia grows very easily Mimzy. Like doug says they are great added to salads or you can dry them(cut and hang upside down till dry)and add them to ice tea when it is brewing or coffee grounds.Too much of the dryed leaves will make your beverage bitter however.Or you can pick some leaves right off the bush and crush them into your iced tea.The powdered stevia doesn't work well in iced beverages but the fresh does. ;) I also like them chopped  and put in my strawberry and avocado salad.
