Plateauing and Russell Stovers
« on: May 20, 2011, 09:41:04 AM »
Hi All!! I hope your FTS week has been good!!

I am learning about plateauing and stress this week. Since I signed off over a week ago I have been fighting a plateau. It seems I hit one about every three months. The good thing is I'm still loosing inches but not a lot of pounds. I even went down another pants size this week. But I am so stressed from the kiddo now homeschooling and packing for the move, that I think it's adding to the plateau effect. Last week I fought gaining and loosing the same pound all week. I also have learned that if you want chocolate, the Russell Stover's truffles are awesome but eating a whole bag in a couple days, will make you gain weight.  :) Thankfully, I did finally loose 2 pounds but I had to really fight for those. I think I am going to just relax a bit and focus on the move and try to just get through it without eating bags of chocolate.  ;)

How is everyone else doing this week? Have you lost?

Hi Sherri! :)

Yep!... I past the half-way point to my goal yesterday.
And this morning, I'm 1 pound away from joining the "60 Pound Club".

Your plateau you described sounds like one that is completely normal.
There are times that our bodies stop losing so that they can metabolically "reorganize" as our body FAT content declines.
During that "reorganization", we also may lose inches.
It's a NORMAL part of the process of losing excess weight. And it's nothing to be too concerned about.

Following ALL the FTS rules is important to be successful at reaching our goals.
To be successful requires more than keeping the net carb count at or below 20.

If we overeat... We stall or gain weight.
If we overdo sugar alcohols... We stall or gain weight.
If we do not drink enough water... We threaten our good health and can stop our progress.

And probably the biggest threats to our progress are stress and worry.
Too much of either of these two things can cause us to overeat or completely blow it altogether.

So... Don't worry... Count your blessings... And BE HAPPY!
You are very close to your goal and should be very proud of your accomplishment! :) :) :)

Hey Sherri!   We have all missed you!!   SO glad to see you back!  ;D
I've lost 1 pound this week so far, but I was hoping to be to 80 by the time you came back.  Hopefully by Sunday....  :)

I'm so happy you found the culprit, Sherri! :) :) :)
Those sugar alcohols can really mess up our games sometimes.

Best of luck on your move!!!
