WEINERS & KRAUT
« on: October 22, 2010, 01:06:14 PM »
I dont know if yall know about weiners & kraut .When I was little we ate it all the time when I got married and cooked it my husband was like what the heck is this . I thought everyone ate it so if not try it is a low carb meal

2 Hotdogs - 2 carbs
 4 oz sourkraut -2 carbs
You can add a little oil to the pan or spray with pam then cut you hotdogs in small peices but in & brown stir around ,when brown then add kraut until heated up .
If you have 0 carb hotdogs then it is less of course ,enjoy

You can get 0 carb kraut. You just have to look hard.

I like to rinse my kraut thoroughly and drain really well (salad spinner) and then saute in butter until it gets VERY tender.  Then I add cut up hot dogs and let them steam.  It does bring back childhood memories.

I have become a crazed shopper and read every label, last week we wanted Hotdogs and I found no sugar HD's and they tasted no different than the one's that had sugar, my question is why add the sugar if it's not needed in the first place?

Cool. I usually like my kraut cold, but might have to try this sometime. I've never cooked it on the stove like this. I get the Jennie-O turkey dogs and they're 1 carb each. I think Claussen kraut is 0 carbs.
