Spaghetti Squash
« on: July 29, 2011, 11:54:03 AM »
Is spaghetti squash really 7.88 net carbs per cup? Oh man, I just bought one of these, but I don't want all those extra carbs for just that amount. :(

ETA -- There are several listings on FatSecret. One says 7.88 and the other says 6.98 carbs. I don't have Doug's book on hand (shared it with a friend), so I don't know what he came up with. The Carb Counter website lists it at about 7-8 carbs per cup, too.

I suppose I could have half a cup. I just didn't realize it was so high or I wouldn't have gotten it. I know I get 20 per day, but I like spreading them out and try not to have any particular meal with a really high count.

:( :(

Another question ...

Can you reheat this or does that not work? I bought the smallest one I could find at the store, but it still seems pretty big. There's no way I can eat the whole thing in one serving myself and I doubt anyone else will want any.

I guess I didn't think this one out too well.  :D

Rena - Doug's book says 1/2 cup 4 carbs.  1/2 cup was filling for me when I made Alfredo and added grilled/sauteed chicken.  I used some cold the next day, added mayo, green onion and diced chicken for lunch and I thought it was good.   :)

Oh good -- thanks, ladies!

So, I guess all the online stuff is right, as they were all hovering around 8 carbs per cup. I was going to try it with chicken and WFs alfredo sauce. Maybe I can do that tomorrow.

Thanks, again!

I guess I've been doing this for a long time now because it just seems so high. Don't mind me. I'm just being a paranoid carb baby ...

Me too, Rena! :)

Knowing what sugar (net carbs) has done to us, we have good reason to be paranoid! ;)
