Crackers?
« on: September 25, 2011, 01:40:17 PM »
Hi, I don't think I'm in the right forum for this question, but....

I purchased these flatbreads at whole foods the other day, and I'm wondering if I should take them back.

Doctor Kracker (pumpkin seed cheddar flatbread)

total carbs.....11g
      Dietary Fiber 4g
      Sugar 0
      Protein 5g

I'm thinking I already know the answer to my question, but... you know me!

Thanks.. Mary

Hi Mary! :)

I'm assuming that those numbers are for "each" serving.
If so, each has 7 net carbs (that is, 11 total minus 4 fiber).

I'm VERY stingy with my carbs at each sitting.
That way, I can spread out my carbs throughout the day.

I'll often make large wraps loaded with meats and cheeses.
And eat half one day (3-4 grams), and the other half (3-4 grams) the next.
What you do today is what matters!

Thanks Tony,

I will admit that I ate one with some cream cheese.  Since that was pretty much the only bad thing I did all day, I'm not going to get too upset by it.

I'm not sure why, but I have these moments when I'm super hungry and I start to eat and then bam I'm full and I have not even dented what is on my plate.  I made a pork roast today and had left over veggies from through the week.  I only ate the veggies and only had a bite of the meat.  You know that was over two hours ago, and I'm still full.

Have a great night, and I'm sure I will chat with you tomorrow.  I depend on you guys for so much!

Hi Mary! :)

Don't get upset about eating a 7 carb flatbread.
It's not so high as to cause alarm.
Simply remember to count it as part of your 20 carb (max) daily total.
Also, keep in mind that one of them takes a bit more than 1/3 of your daily carb maximum.

I normally try to limit my carb intake to about 6 grams or less per meal.
If it's a snack, 4 or less.

Also, try not to allow yourself to get super hungry.
Eating a little here and there throughout the day will help prevent this.

In fact, I eat only one or two meals max. a day.
The rest of the time, I eat  small (usually high protein) snacks.
What you do today is what matters!
