Hi eliruthy!
Remember, FTS is about net carbs and portion sizes... Not calories.
So try not to focus on calories. If you do, you will confuse yourself.
In answer to your question, a number of members have reported losing more weight when they increase their fat intake.
I know!... I know!... We've been taught that fat makes fat. So this sounds confusing. It's one reason why diets don't work!
This really does make sense... The body uses much more energy metabolizing fat than it does net carbs.
Therefore, if you've stalled, try doing this:
(1) Eliminate foods with sugar alcohols (sweeteners). These are commonly known to cause stall outs.
(2) Eat ONLY when hungry. But don't allow yourself to get TOO hungry.
(3) When you do eat, DON'T overeat. Use Doug's 15 minute rule.
(4) Eat foods HIGHER in fat content than you have up to now.
As far as how much fat, you will have to find that out for yourself as no two of us are alike.
If you are still stalled, try eating fewer than 20 net carbs a day.
Some of members have had to do this to keep their progress moving forward.
