Hi, Stephanie!
Most all of us here are recovering carb (sugar) addicts.
And like any other substance addiction, there are two parts; the body, and the mind.
After sugar detox our bodies become about 75% recovered from years of carb abuse.
And part of that 75% is a dramatically increased level of energy and sense of well being.
But our damaged metabolisms take longer to heal. But in time, if we stay the course, they will heal.
The mind holds the "bad habits" components like grazing, urges to eat when not hungry, the desire to eat too much, etc..
After three weeks, the mind can develop new habits or lose old ones.
But even after we break old habits, our memories of enjoying high-carb junk can sneak in.
By staying the course, we force out old memories of eating high-carb junk and replace them with enjoying low-carb, delicious foods.
Being a member of the slow losers turtle club, I know what slow progress means.
Losing 3 pounds in two weeks was really good for me. Despite the slowness, I still made goal.
Remember that this is NOT a race!!!... It's a change of lifestyle that will go on for life.
Also, don't forget to take complete measurements. We very often lose fat without losing weight.
