Hey, guys. I'm seeing some progress with the people around me! YAY!
Today, we had our church service at an RV park. It was great to be outside on a beautiful day! After the service, there was food of course. Lots of people brought the usual: hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad, baked beans, etc...
I, of course, brought food to donate to the larger cause, but I also brought my insulated bag I take everywhere. I had some canned chicken that I added some blue cheese dressing and chopped onions to. (I ran out of mayo and got desperate, but it was great! Who'd have thunk it? LOL)...I put that on my salad. Then, I had strawberries and blackberries. I also was eating celery dipped in my natural peanut butter before the service started. It was cool because people were noticing and asking questions. I had three long conversations with individuals about the FTS life! They wrote down the websites and wanted to check into it when they got home.
This one couple really touched my heart! They had put their food on the grill and then came over to me (while I was eating my salad) and said, "Would you like one of our turkey burgers? It doesn't have anything in it that you can't have?" I ate it and it was delicious! This evening, I checked my blood sugar and it was 116 so I am guessing that they were right! We had a great conversation and I introduced them to jicama! It's so funny to see the look on people's faces when you say the word: jicama! Their heads turn sideways like a little inquisitive puppy!
Anyway, all in all, this day of picnicking was so much better than the last few. Not one person tried to get me to eat poison!
Oh, and about 5 people got baptized in the river....awesome day!
