Cobb Salad!
« on: March 24, 2012, 10:22:41 PM »
This isn't my picture - I found it online. Looks like bacon, onion - how about replacing it with purple cabbage? - hard-boiled eggs, cubed chicken (or turkey), tomatoes and avocado, topped with shredded cheese. How easy can it get?

I love Cobb salad, size can get away from you though when making them so be sure to measure the ingredients.  ;)

You're right, Doug! It's easy to get carried away - I was thinking of serving it as a one-dish meal for more than one person, but it would be nifty to find a bowl that's just the right size and make individual servings. I'll keep my eye out for that. I wonder how a pint canning jar would work to layer the salad? Might be hard to eat, though. I'll keep looking.

Cobb salad, no tomato, no onion, is my dining out fall back.  When I have business lunches, it's an easy choice.

Excellent choice! :)

Just watch out for salad dressings!
Many that restaurants use have added sugar.
Just let your waiter know. ;)

Blue Cheese is usually a safe choice also but I get it on the side.  I can taste sugar a mile away now  :)

Hi Kim! :)

Isn't it interesting how our tastes change after we detox from sugar?
