Finally have prove of what I thought for quite awhile!

I was able to go to the new doctor last week because I was blessed with someone canceling . He did all the right test that I have been begging for and they results are I am hypo and my antibodies are all out of whack.
My TSH was 4.6
My TPAntibodies was 244  normal high is 35 !!!!!
Plus my vitamin D was very low
He said my total cholesterol  was 252 and HDL was 72 and the other was 153  but he thinks it will go down after the thyroid gets balanced.

So I start on my armour 60mg and 4000 IU of vitamin D in the morning . I also have to do a sleep study at the end of November . I knew that I was doing everything I was suppose to be doing with FTS ,this is not a shocker but my A1C was 5. something can't remember . Does anyone know how long the meds take to make a change ?

Jo I hate to hear all these numbers but am so happy for you!  I know you are relieved to finally have a doc to listen to you....On the road to recovery now girl

You'll get pretty quick relief on the Armour.  I'm really glad that the doc prescribed that instead Synthroid.  It will take time to figure out your optimal dose. The antibody results mean you have Hashimoto's Disease.  That gives you something to google tonight.  It is hereditary so it is something Tyler should be aware of, too.

I'm really relieved that you finally got this diagnosis.  You should be feeling better really soon.

Andrea how long should it take to see or feel anything from the armour?  Yes I was aware of  the hashi's I just wonder now if it being hereditary ,was that why Tyler got type 1 diabetes  ? since it is another auto immune . They check his thyroid every year and have since he was diagnosed.

It really is sad that i have been telling doctors that I did not feel right since after I had Ty 17 years ago and every year my light has been getting  a little dimmer . All the docs wanted to do was give me anti depressants that just made me gain weight with every different one I tried . Fast forward to finding FTS ,then finding out I could not lose like normal peeps regardless of doing what I was suppose to. Hopefully all this  frustration is over now thank God for dr dorkal that actually listened and Andrea for giving me the link to stop the madness so I could educate myself.

I haven't heard of a link between Hashi's and Type 1 Diabetes. 

It will take a couple of weeks to start feeling the good effects of having adequate thyroid hormones and it could take longer than that to get the right dosage.  It will all depend upon how damaged your thyroid is but you've finally found a doctor so you know you are on the right track.
