I'm a fourth generation suburbanite so "strong cabbage" isn't on my list of experiences.  I find the heads I get at the grocery store are very mild and don't require toning down. 

I agree that steaming is a good idea but, in a pinch, hot marinara will do the trick on freshly shredded cabbage.  I use bigger pieces of steamed cabbage as the pasta replacement in lasagna, too.  That is a crowd pleaser.

I do roasted cauliflower and broccoli with a cheese sauce made from heavy cream. Its yummy! :)

My favourite pasta dish has always been Carbonara and a few weeks ago I remembered I had a packet of the konjac pasta.  The angel hair actually has less carbs.  The look and smell are a bit off putting, but once you have rinsed and rinsed (I do it under the hot water tap), drained and then thrown it in the sauce and let it simmer a bit it, it tasted good.  I wouldn't say it was rubbery, more like just under 'al dente'.  It's a bit like tofu and takes in the flavor of what it's cooked in - better the next day.

Hi Umpa! :)

Carbanara is a pasta dish made with eggs, cheese, bacon, and black pepper.

If found an interesting recipe that I'm going to try soon;

I usually do mine with cream rather than eggs and use bacon or ham.  I fry off some bacon with a little onion in olive oil, pour in some cream, add S&P, fresh parsley and let it reduce for a little while, then throw in the 'pasta' and grated cheese.  Let simmer for a couple minutes and done.  Been known to fry in some mushrooms and/or sliced chicken fillets also.  Yummy
