Hello all - I'mmmmm back. Missed you all, though I did manage to read a couple of posts at the internet cafe on board the ship. Had a great holiday, but gotta say 18 days on board a boat got me a bit restless. Enjoyed the shopping in Bangkok and gotta say will hopefully return there one day. Eating fts bit tricky in asian countries though - meat and eggs being at a minimum, but did okay. Being on the boat, where I thought I would be safer, turned out not to be
(We spent 3 days in Thailand then 18 days on a cruise ship back to Australia stopping at Singapore, Vietnam, Brunei, Darwin, Port Douglas and Sydney. Then flew home to Melbourne. 3 weeks in all.)
So glad to be in my own safe (foodwise) environment. Everywhere you turned onboard there was food, food and more food, and someone offering you even more. Even the sugarfree foods were not fts friendly. My daughter has renamed cruises as 'floating buffets'.
I have to say I fell off the wagon - sad but true. Could have done better, but hey that's how it went. And yes, gained weight - poo - though hoping a lot is fluid because everything was salted and didn't drink nearly enough.
Got back yesterday and back on the program today - it's actually a relief to be in total control of my food, knowing exactly what I am putting into my system.
With not eating enough protein (or would that be that since I had reintroduced sugar in my system) I found that I was constantly craving something to satisfy me, thereby eating things I knew I shouldn't. For pete's sake - I drank lemon cordial and had Sugar Frosties cereal. I haven't had Sugar Frosties for decades!
It makes sense when Doug tells us to clean out our environment. Temptation you don't need.
Sorry - no pictures. We decided to bring only one camera and my travel partner was the designated one. hmmm she forgot to bring it.
Welcome to all the newbies - hang tight and enjoy the ride
