Survived & Conquered Family BBQ
« on: May 29, 2013, 04:12:25 PM »
It was Memorial day weekend. My alcoholic brother (in AA) visiting from Alabama.

I was unusually outgoing due to lots of caffeine & 2 glasses of wine, lol.
Mary & I munched on almonds for table snack (ignored pretzels & potato chips)
Ate deviled eggs, green & black olives, veggies & dip and one BBQ pork strip each.
Dinner we ate slider burger, took off bun, and some fruit.
Also ate a flavorful crab snack wrapped in baby romaine.
We skipped potato salad, egg rolls and dessert.

Did not gain any weight!! Still 140!!!

My 4 brothers and I, lined up by age from left to right. By end of this year we will be ages 50,52,53,54 & 55

Mary and I

Family gatherings, like Memorial Day BBQs, can be especially challenging.
And you and Mary flew right through it! ;D ;D ;D

Congratulations, to you both! :) :) :)

Great job.  I wish I could say I had as easy a time.  I went to a bbq, and other than the meat (hamburgers, hot dogs, sausage, chicken) EVERYTHING they served was loaded with carbs.  I did my best, and skipped the buns, but I must admit to a little potato salad and an ear of corn on the cob.  Damage was minimal.  Back on the wagon since.
