It is well know that when we burn fat we are also releasing toxins that are stored in that fat. I have had some recent strange skin conditions crop up and stalled weight loss so I didn't know if it was from toxin release.   I was researching online and came across some information that I wanted to question and see what you know about this.

"Toxins can slow fat loss, diminish muscle gains, decrease the metabolism, and drain you of energy. The toxins become trapped in the fatty tissues and cells in your body. The trapped toxins bloat you because they cause your body to retain fluid to dilute the foreign element. When these toxins fill your cells, they also trap fat in them and hold them there and prevent them from being utilized. The more the toxins build up, the more fat is stored in the cells.

To make matters worse, the toxins alter your bloods pH balance, making you more acidic. An acidic condition means you are very low on minerals and your body will not function optimally. In this acidic state, you cannot burn fat, are more prone to illnesses, and more apt to develop degenerative diseases, such as osteoporosis, cancer, heart disease, etc.

If you can normalize your bloods pH level and bring it more to a neutral state, the cells will release the fat and allow for them to be burned. This, in turn, can increase your metabolism and energy, ignite fat loss, and in my opinion, reverse the aging process as well."

Any thoughts?

Yes, drinking lots of water was recommended and if your body is very acidic, which most of the foods (animal protein) and artificial sweetners are acidic, with the exception of stevia and green leafy veggies, you are suppose to take enzymes and calcium.  Another article had a chart of the acidity or alkaline of foods.

It may be to get people to buy their test strips but some of the articles weren't selling anything.

I was just curious about this and wanted to see what other's thought.

Here's my advice.... Billions of dollars are made every year by companies preying on our "need" for solutions regarding weight loss and a slew of other ailments. It's been the job of industry to make everything complicated and confusing forcing many of us down the path of buying "stuff". Now with all that said, could what you read be accurate? Maybe, I'm not educated on these concepts enough to give you a truthful answer, so no comment will be forthcoming. I can tell you this however. Umpa and I are a living breathing testimonial to following the FTS program without any side effects other than better health, better blood profiles, better blood pressure, better skin, hair and muscle tone, less FAT on our bodies and extraordinary energy. And guess what.....we never did nor will we ever worry about the issues brought up in the article you read. Stick to the program and follow the K.I.S.S. theory....."Keep it simple silly" :) and your weight WILL come off.......what say you Katary?

I have to agree with doug.I have read articles though about sugars effect on the body, one doctor called it fertilizer for cancer.Doug has that article ask him to post it.I also read an article similiar to this although not the same in which a doctor was encouraging his extremely obese patients to lose weight because the toxin build up in the fat was making them ill.I will see if i can find that one.I would think that a simple blood test(guess here) would tell you if you were acidic.I would call a lab.

i would ask what are the "strange skin conditions"? and then tell you that i have had just the opposite occur since April 12Th when i started FTS ;) i have had muscle gain, increased metabolism, and tons of energy...0 bloating and never felt better...and been told numerous times that i look younger... so unless i am some kind of freak of nature I'd say that article is BS.... also let me say this,i mentioned to umpa yesterday that my nephew is a high school football player that is bigtime into weight lifting.. he has a personal trainer this summer, hoping to land a scholarship somewhere in division 1 (their team was ranked 2ND nationally this past season) and the things that he thinks are healthy and what i think are healthy are almost completely opposite.... we just agree to disagree, and i told him yesterday that our situations are so different that's why we always disagree,he is 17,never been fat, trying to develop his body and gain weight/muscle through diet and weight training....me on the other hand,i am 48, been fat, already developed and not trying to become an Adonis...just a normal healthy person :) so izzet that being said you could get 12 health/diet guru's in a room and get 12 completely different opinions on the correct answer,i can only go by my own results, and like i said earlier i think its BS>>> and Doug i thought the saying was K.I.S.S. keep it simple stupid>>> and ironically enough didn't that quote come from ray kroc??? how much damage has McDonald's done to our countries overall health?

Good discussion!  I love it. :D I was of the impression it was bogus, too, in order to buy "their" supplements, products and books but wanted to get input from those that have nothing to gain (forgive the pun).  Since the skin condition is confined to my left arm I'll venture to guess just a contact dermatitis (no insurance for doctor so was just wondering if related. lol)

I agree that many doctor's do not agree depending on what area they specialize you're gonna get whatever answer best suits their agenda and/or cause.

Thanks for the thoughtful input!

Yes Gary, K.I.S.S. is "Keep It Simple Stupid"....... but I did'nt want izzet to misunderstand and think I was calling her stupid so I changed it to silly :) Good response by the way.
