Well, are you? I think sometimes we need to be reminded that our mouths are not garbage disposals and despite what our mothers taught us, eating everything on our plates will NOT cure world hunger  :'( I don't know about you but Eating while I cook, Eating while I put the leftovers away and Mom's voice in my head about the starving children in Biafra absolutely contributed to the extra 100 pounds of FAT I accumulated on my body. These are foolish reasons for us to gain weight and easy problems to resolve.

Eating while you cook and eating while you put leftovers away is easily solved with a 5 cent stick of sugar free gum. Make it a habit to always have some sugar free gum in the kitchen to chew while you accomplish these chores. This will stop you dead in your tracks from putting needless food into your mouth.

Smaller portions, smaller plates, fallowing the FAT TO SKINNY 15 minute rule will ALWAYS stop you from overloading your serving sizes. It's imperative that EVERYONE follows the 15 minute rule. Eat 1/2 of your food served up then push the plate away and wait 15 minutes. If you're still hungry eat a bit more food, if not your done....grab a stick of gum :) I follow the 15 minute rule at every dinner. Not as much for breakfast but absolutely for dinner.Breakfast for me is pretty regimented. I love my favorite 3 strips of bacon, 2 eggs and a piece of GG, that's a very measured meal. Dinner however is always multiple ingredients from pots therefor it's very easy to overload the plate...........9 times out of 10 I only eat 1/2 of what I placed onto the plate. Does that mean my eyes were bigger than my stomach, or maybe I was simply hungry when I plated up the food? Yes to both and yes to the 15 minute rule.

Finishing all the food on your plate won't cure world hunger however donating all the food in your house high in carbs to your local food bank and donations to your favorite charity will help.

The "15 Minute Rule" and chewing gum really do work!

Chewing that piece of gum after you eat will help curb "head hunger" (that is hunger that's only in your head).
Also, drinking at least 8 oz. of PLAIN COLD WATER afterwords will help too! ;)

I REALLY like the key-lime pie gum...and have been trying to get my 8 8oz's of water..whew! it's a LOT! lol Have a Blessed Easter!  ;D

I need to try the key-lime pie gum. I've tried the chocolate chip mint ice cream one and it's really good. Funny flavors they're coming out with these days.  :D

I'm Hooked on Extra brand gum, my faves are the polar ice, bubble gum and strawberry shortcake flavors.  8)

I thought gum has sugar alcohols?  No carbs?  That will be great news because I love the key lime pie gum but stopped because I didn't want to waste a carb on gum. :D

Most do have sugar alcohols, Beth -- not sure about carbs because I don't have any right now to check.
