Tropical Storm Nicole

I just saw the weather report for Florida Keys, and the Carolinas. Having noticed many of the members of this Community live in these areas my prayers are with you. Praying Nicole will fizzle out before she hits Florida -- it could happen  ;D. Blessings for safety and no damages to you all.

Thanks Caligirl,  I am a California native, lived in North Carolina since 1979 and this is home now.  We are supposed to get 7-8 inches of rain in Raleigh by mid day tomorrow, with flash flood warnings.  We don't live in a flood prone area thankfully.  :)

Hey Paula,
Glad to hear you're safe. Wow you gave up earthquakes for hurricanes and tropical storms? You're a brave woman! A friend in Georgia was submerged last year after one of these. So nothing to mess around with that's for sure. After having lived in both states, which do you think is worse; hurricanes/tropical storms or earthquakes?

Well Cali, having experienced both I was definitely more impacted by Hurricane Fran when it demolished our home and the hurricanes are definitely a force to reckon with but so are earthquakes.  Got thrown out of my bed in 1971 with that one, but I love North Carolina and hope to finish out my days in retirement in the Smoky Mountains....All my family still lives in Cali ;D

Bless you Paula, that must have been horrible to lose your home. So glad you are all okay. I guess every area has it's own weather and natural disaster trials. NC sounds like a beautiful place to retire. Maybe when you come out to visit your family we can meet for a FTS lunch!! Have an awesome weekend!
