Dropping the pounds!!
« on: April 09, 2011, 11:40:05 AM »
Hey y'all! I don't know what i've been doing different this time, but, I've gone from 240-225! It took me a while to get over the 230 mark! and I'm keeping it off! We with possibly 3 diabetics in the house, as y'all know, my 15yr. old is one, and we'll find out next week if my 16yr. old is or not! Fingers crossed!
We've had to change our entire eating habbits! and I'm the one who isn't diabetic! But, I needed to loose this weight anyway! I'm tired of carrying it around! My husbands a1c is it? Went from 11 down to 7! So he's doing awesome! He went from 315 to 300! So we have really made some drastic changes in our diets! Such as no bread at all! We just never realized how much we were dependant on bread! Until we realized like Doug said, you can still make sandwhiches out of lettuce! and they're good! I still do very little excersize, other than when I walk back and forth volunteering at the grocery store! But I'm not putting anymore "bad foods" into my body; chips, candy, breads, and to be honest with you, once done with the detox, I don't even miss them! (for fear of haveing to go through that again!:-) But I am very proud to say, that the weight is FINALLY starting to "melt" off as Umpa has said! (Shout out for Umpa and Doug ;D)Doing just a little excersize helps! You don't have to go to the gym and spend hours! Just what I do everyday on a daily basis, is starting to show!
Just would like to thank Doug and Umpa for not giving up on me!  ;D I'm really sticking with the program, and haveing a ball!

Hi snobles! :)

It's great that you are experiencing what wonderful things happen by following the FTS rules such as getting some exercise.

I wonder if anyone here remembers the "pyramid of needs" that each of our bodies have?

Each leg of the pyramid represents a "need".
The absence of any leg causes the pyramid to fall like a 3-legged stool missing a leg.

The pyramid's three legs are:

1) Nutrition
2) Rest
3) Exercise

If we do not get the right nutrition (or eat improperly), our bodies will suffer.
If we do not get the right amount of rest, our bodies will suffer.
If we do not get the right (or at least minimal) amount of exercise, our bodies will suffer.

There are no magic pill replacements or easy work-arounds for these needs.

The closer we are to fulfilling all those needs in an optimal way, the happier our bodies will become and healthier we will be.

What you do today is what matters!
