Joseph's Lite Cookies
« on: June 16, 2011, 09:15:16 AM »
Good Morning,

I am new to this forum and have a question.  I came across Joseph's Lite Cookies in grocery store - being that he is a diabetic (per the packaging) the cookies have 0g Sugar, but 6-9g (depending on product)  of Malitol.

Are these cookies okay to use as a snack?

Thanks!

Yes they are fine you subtract sugar alcohols . But only use them as  treat because sugar alcohols slow some folks weight loss . If you are just starting out it is best to stay away from sweets at first until you detox .

Also welcome the fist day of your FTS Life !!!!!

What are the carbs on these cookies? LOL -- cookies -- you got MY attention!

I know Murray's sugar free cookies are really high in carbs because of the flour and other ingredients.

I checked out the cookies and found the nutritional labels. There are several flavors and they average 1 to 1 1/2 net carbs each after subtracting the Malitol. Be sure to count them into your daily total :)

Try these FAT TO SKINNY cookies you'll love em and the entire recipe is only 2 carbs. Be sure to put them into the freezer after they cool.

Beanit Butter Cookies

Beat eggs in a medium size bowl.
Add xylitol to eggs. Mix well.

Roll dough into balls and place on cookie sheet.
Flatten balls twice with fork.(crisscross)
Cook for 8 minutes. Cool on rack. Refrigerate to firm after they cool. Store in fridge or freezer.

Thanks, Doug. It's so hard to tell with some of these labels. I swear, I think I'm going nuts. I had made some cookies using IM Healthy soynut butter that claims 1 net carb per serving. I've used it before. Then the other day as I was throwing out the empty container, I SWEAR I saw the label said, "10 carbs, 5 fiber". I was like, "WHAT?" My heart sank. Then last night I looked at a jar on a shelf of a store and it said "6 carbs, 5 fiber". I don't know if I was hallucinating the first time or if somehow I'd gotten ahold of a jar that was misprinted. Talk about a weird moment.  :-\

But alas ... I have Beanit Butter in the house now, so all is good! :D :D
