Old World Sausage Bread
« on: December 17, 2011, 11:00:15 PM »
I used to have a recipe for Old World Sausage Bread - it was very hearty (heavy), cake-like and wonderful for breakfast. I can't find my recipe. :'( Do you suppose we (you) could come up with our own version? It was very very good. I'm thinking about a pumpkin bread with sausage in it. It was savory, not sweet. :)

In the Fat to Skinny Bakery book there is a recipe for Brussadella.Which is a italian cake like bread that you could easily add sausage to.Its dense and very filling.I would cut back on the sweetener a little though ;)

Thanks :D very much! I was looking through the Bakery Book last night and thought the Pumpkin Bread recipe looked something like it. If I find the recipe when I unpack the storage unit, I'll post it. Don't hold your breath, though. Stuff in that storage unit has been buried there for six years already. :o

I'm going to try that pumpkin bread recipe this week Umpa.  I have a recipe that came from my great aunt that lots of folks look forward to at the holidays.  I like to give it away as gifts and will be making it again this year.  I sure miss having it myself...LOL :'(  Having one on hand that I can have will make it easier to not be tempted  ::)

I'm thinking of trying it out in my new mini cupcake maker  ;D ;D  It will be great for my Christmas party with maybe a dollop of cream cheese frosting...hmmmmm

Hi Shawn! :)

My dear wife had a Walmart errand yesterday, and bought me one as an early Christmas present.
I'll be taking mine for a road test soon too!

Umpa I did go back and get the cup cake maker.  I tried it out with one batch yesterday when I made the pumpkin donuts.  It works really well but I decided to wait to make any more.  I want to get some cup cake liners.  It tells you that you can use it without but it was hard to get them out without messing them up a bit.  I'm not sure how the liners will do in there though.  It seems to me that they would burn....hmmm I need to play with it a little more before I decide if it is as fun or not...LOL  These will work great for the camper!!

Hi Umpa! :)

They are cool gift for just under $15!
It's no wonder they were sold out.

Ask Walmart for a raincheck. ;)
