not sure Izzet, but I do ask the brands used plus whats in the book before I buy anything Im not familiar with.. Like I got walmart to stock on the Joseph's pita's that SherriePie told us about...

Xylitol is xylitol.

It does not matter whether it comes from corn husks or birch bark.
Chemically at the molecular level, it's the same sugar alcohol.

Any sweetener coming from the corn kernel I would not trust.
That is where the corn plant stores it's fructose (sugar).

I was incorrect Izzet. I was sent this by Now.They use the fiber only.
Xylitol is a naturally occurring low-calorie sweetener found in fruits, vegetables and certain hardwoods. Our bodies can produce up to 15 grams of Xylitol from other foods we ingest daily. This sweetener is not a newcomer in the marketplace. Initially discovered by a German scientist in 1891, sugar shortages caused by World War II stimulated a group of innovative folks from Finland to rediscover this wonderful sugar substitute. They called it “koivusokeri” or “birch sugar” because they derived it from a fiber found in birch tree bark.

By the 1960s, Xylitol was being used in Europe, the Soviet Union and Japan. Today it’s used in the USA as a sweetener that’s approved by the FDA and the ADA. Xylitol is commercially manufactured from the cellulose of wood, cane pulp, seed hulls and cornhusk.

My mother in law lives next door and gets alot of my experiments.When i am in North Carolina i drive my golf cart down the mountain to fetch my mail and deliver goodies to the neighbors.Now they stop me in the street to see what I have in the cart!They get so disapointed when I am just fetching the mail with no goodies. :D

Lil, no experimenting.. I have awesome recipes from this awesome book called Fat to Skinny.. Why experiment when its been handed to me in a silver platter...   

brownies is next on my list to bake...  I figured that if I keep my family and not feeling like I'm depriving them, it will be easier for them.. and it has..
