Sugar Free Gum/Ice Breaker Mints?
« on: June 03, 2010, 10:29:19 PM »
I have some Trident sugar free gum and Ice Breaker mints.  Obviously it has alcohols and sugar substitutes.  Is it allowed as long as I count the carbs in my totals?  The both say about <5 cal. per piece.

It says 1 gram of sugar alcohol for the Trident.

The mints say <1g of sugar alcohol.

Thanks for your help!
Peace and blessings,

IzzeT

IZZET, you don't need to count the sugar alcohols in your total carb counts, they are a zero. However Splenda (sucralose) needs to be included as 1 carb per pac or can, 24 carbs per cup when using it for baking.

Yikes...24 carbs for a cup????....I'll stick with Stevia thank you very much. lol  So, the gum and mint carbs are free...yeah!  I only chew a piece once in a while and the mints a couple a day...don't want to scare off the customers.  ;)

Thanks!
Peace and blessings,
