Packing 'weight'
« on: November 20, 2012, 07:50:17 PM »
In my mind I know I have lost over 40 lbs and sometimes I think it really shows, but I don't think I realised the enormity of it all.  I packed my suitcase for my trip and tried to lift it.  OMG I thought, just as well it has wheels because if I had to carry it all over the airport I would keel over.  Definitely over the limit I thought - so off to the scales   It weighed in at 14.5kg (31.9lbs).  When I realised that this is less than what I have lost it really struck me that this is excess luggage I no longer drag around with me on a daily basis.  They do say a picture is worth a thousand words and this practical exercise just proved it.   It really is heavy.

It's always important to look back instead of forward to appreciate our accomplishments. Well done Morgan  8)

When you are carrying it around on your body everyday, it usually doesn't seem like a lot.  Then you experience something like you just did and wow!!  Thanks for your post, Morgan.  It is so helpful to put things in perspective.

I remember after losing my first 20 pounds going to the market and picking up a 20 pound bag of potatoes.
It was an eye opening experience! :o

It's no wonder my back bothered me so much!

It's amazing, isn't it? Such a relief to not have to carry that around anymore! In SO many ways.
