I just found Doug's book a week or so ago and I'm just fascinated with it!  I've done a lot of low carb searching and his book makes finally makes it all make sense to me.  Found this site after reading the FTS book and I'm trying to find my way around.  Love all the recipes.  I'm a 68 year old grandma and I've gained too much weight in the past year.  I'm really pretty healthy...just too fat.    :'(  I actually started low carbing the first of February, before I found Doug's book.  I haven't been counting carbs too closely but trying to watch not to eat too many.  Since reading the book I'm really trying to stay no more than 20.  I'm down about 9 lbs since I started.  Not dramatic, but a good start.  I love watching Doug's cooking videos...he makes it all look so easy and so good!!  I'd appreciate any advice I can get from you guys who have been at this for a while.  :)

Hi enache - welcome. It won't be long and you will be wizzing around this site like no-one's business  ;)

Most things are posted under the General Discussion category, but if you have a specific topic or recipe just click on those categories.

So excellent with the 9 lbs.  Post often - we love new friends.

Hello Enache, welcome to the family :) my advice to you is to stick to the plan, count those carbs, tweak your foods and enjoy your meals. Visiting and posting on the forum often will keep you on track and motivated  8)

Welcome to the FTS family, enache!!! :) :) :) :) :) :)

The toughest part of changing to FTS (or any new lifestyle) is the readjustments that happen early on.

After our bodies go through "sugar detox", and our minds come to fully accept that this lifestyle will help us become much healthier, we're then well on our way to a better life!

You're off to a wonderful start! ;D ;D ;D
Keep it up, and you'll be where you want to be!

We're right here with you all the way! :)
