Nicely put Mark, I too am a big believer in getting as much nutrient intake from my foods as I can VS supplements.

Thank you all for your wonderfully insightful comments.  That is my favorite thing about this forum.  I have increased my intake of green veggies, and I had blood work redone this morning.  My potassium levels are up... not yet all the way back, but moving in the right direction.  My doctor explained that the diuretic I am on to aid in controlling my blood pressure is most likely the cause of the decreased potassium level.  I will continue to eat my greens and should be all set in no time.  Thanks again.

Mark

Hi, Mark! :)

It's amazing how prepackaged foods have so many additives that are just plain bad for our bodies.
Table salt is a good example!
For the reasons you stated are why I use either sea salt (Costco brand) or Kosher salt.

Regarding our bodies needs for minerals...
Our bodies are extremely complex machines.
Even our individual cells are mind boggling in their functionality and chemical requirements.
That's why the Lord provided natural nutrition sources for our bodies'.

Supplements are additives!
They should NEVER replace eating natural foods.
They are simply used to "add to" what we already eat (or maybe not eat enough of).

Kudos to you for eating more green veggies! :) :) :)

Thank you Mark for such wonderful explanation of potassium. I learned more about it because of you.
