I'm back....
« on: July 12, 2013, 08:15:20 PM »
It's taken me a few years to get back and realize where I made mistakes last time.  My first mistake with FTS way of life is I did not read the book.  That was a really huge mistake, everyone should read this book before starting FTS.  So I now have the book and I was really surprised at some of the foods you can eat on the FTS plan.  I'm slowly moving into the FTS way of eating.  I've been searching the net for recipes and low carb ideas and I gone food shopping the last three days.  I am finally realizing that the FTS plan is all about clean eating.  Something that we have gotten away from with all of our modern day ready to eat foods/fast foods.  Also I'm from the south and just about everything we eat is loaded with sugar in one form or another once it get into our bodies.  I was amazed reading the bacon package and seeing sugar listed on the contents.  People wonder why they can't lose weight if they only realized how much sugar they eat everyday without knowing it.  So now that I'm back....  I really need to lose this other person.  I started the FTS back in 2011 and some how I fell off the wagon.  I went back to Atkins and much to my dismay I gained weight.  I know it was there pre packaged food loaded with carbs.  Wow, what a wake up call when I gain weight on Atkins.  Sooooo then I started back on Weight Watchers and really enjoyed that I could eat anything as long as I counted points.  Well I have lost  between 10 and 15 pounds and that's it.  I'm up one week and down the next so I'm back to the yo-yo dieting. This has been going on for a little more than a year.  I am so done with Weight Watcher and Atkins.  As I have started moving back to FTS and clean eating I'm starting to feel better. Today when I got off work my hands were not swollen so that tells me this is working for me.  It's really hard not to jump on the scales to see if I lost anything the last couple of days.  I told myself that I will only get on the scales once a week, I do not want to get discourage. I will take my cues on how I feel and how my clothes are fitting and one day at a time.  I have my dr's appointment in just over a month and I'm curious to see how my blood work will look as apposed to my last check up.

Welcome back to the forum frosty  :) :)

That is the best thing about the FTS way of life...no more yoyoing   ;)  Be sure to take your measurements so you can see the change when the scale isn't moving.

That is a great way to stay successful.  After all it took more than a day for us to get where we are, it will take some time to get to where we want to be.  The end game is being healthy and feeling great  ;D  Be sure to come in and post often...it's a great tool to help stay the course

Hello frosty - it seems like you have a plan and I'm sure you will do well.  Put on the tightest fitting outfit you have and you will be able to judge how you are going visually by how loose it gets.  Post often.  The recipe section on the forum is huge and you will be able to take your pick in variety.  Looking forward to getting to know you.  :)

Thanks everyone.  I have almost finished the book, at the moment i'm in the recipe section.  Wanted to finish it tonight but my nook needs to recharge.  I did make Doug's Wilted Zucchini with Grated Romano and it was great i want to try this again and add some garlic.

Not sure if i'm ready to take those measurement although I really need to.  :o

Happy to say....I am not flying blind this time.

Hi Frosty, welcome back :) when you are done reading the core book you'll find all the great recipes you need in the FAT TO SKINNY Low Carb Cookbook and the FAT TO SKINNY Sugar Free Bakery Book as well as right here on the forum. Both of those books are available in NOOK format! http://www.shop.fattoskinny.com

I HATE what became of Atkins, greed, greed and more greed. Dr Atkins would roll over in his grave to see that his legacy has become a prepackaged food business instead of his original vision of helping to cure obesity....disgusts me  >:(

Yes, I'm sure Dr. Atkins would not approve of the changes.
