I've had the book for 4 weeks. I was very excited to get started. I started losing immediately. The book says lose 8 lbs in a week. It is now 4 weeks and I've only lost 6. I keep fluctuating. I started at 161. I went down to 153 at one point and 2 days later I'm back at 155. I've only lost 6 in 4 weeks. What I don't understand is that I've eaten all the wrong things all my life and now I'm down to less than 20 carbs a day and I'm still having trouble losing. My job requires me to constantly be walking. I go to the gym twice a week. With all this activity, I would think I would lose with the little carbs I'm allowing myself. I understand about plateaus. I'm going to continue because I really want this.
I do have a question for anyone who may be able to answer this.
Why such little
weight loss with such a big cut back on sugar? I use to eat breads, muffins, sugar in my iced tea, which I drank all day long. Yet now I have only 20 carbs a day and it's not coming off easily.
Also, once the
weight loss is gone, do I introduce carbs back into my diet and just monitor how much is allowed or am I suppose to stick to 20 carbs forever and only eat protein the rest of my life? I couldn't find an answer to that in the book. Thanks everyone.
