Food Pyramid - Australia
« on: March 23, 2016, 06:47:20 AM »
Australia updated its food pyramid last year sometime and has actually moved grains up from the bottom.  From eat most to eat moderately.  It is also recommending we avoid sugar and salt.  As a matter of interest I googled America's food pyramid and was surprised that Native American's have their own pyramid, not to mention Latin American and Italian.  Wonder why.  What did interest me was that your pyramid suggests 6-11 servings of grains/pasta/rice - that seemed somewhat excessive.  Thoughts?

Hi, Morgan! :)

The changes you've seen "down under" and what we're beginning to see in America, I believe, is the scientific fact that high-carbs cause inflammation is starting to gain some acceptance.

I suppose there was a time when the thought of the world being round and not flat took a while to catch to, too. :D
