thick and hearty chocolate pancakes
« on: January 27, 2011, 05:37:58 PM »
I am not 100% sure of the amounts because I just poured into a bowl and mixed it. I wanted something and this is what I ended up with and it satisfied my current "want."

about 1 cup of golden milled flax seed, 1 egg, 1 tsp baking powder, 4 - 5 Tbspoons of chocolate flavored SF Torani syrup, a dash of water (just enough to make the batter scoopable).

I scooped out 4 smallish pancakes and cooked them on my griddle. They were really good, very filling. I didn't need to add xylitol because of the Torani syrup. They are not light and fluffy, and that's great because that's not what I was craving.

Thanks owensmath!!!  :)
Sounds simple yet yummy!  ;)

By just changing the SF flavoring and/or maybe adding a few berries, this can be changed to suit many tastes or "pancake moods"!

Thanks, Umpa! That's my DURING picture, not my after picture, because I am still working on it. I am not sure how to put a before/during picture combo up, though. I'm going to figure it out soon.

a little bit like the texture of a brownie, I suppose if you added melted chocolate to the batter, it would taste more like a brownie

I just remembered the SF chocolate chip recipe that Umpa posted within the "Magic Bars" recipe.

I'll bet adding some of these would really kick up the pancakes a notch!  ;)

Jo, I freeze almost everything I bake.  It is too tempting to have them sit out on the counter.  If you don't have all of the ingredients for brownies, try the Chocolate Mug Cake.  They are individual and delicious, very chocolaty.  http://www.fattoskinny.net/index.php?topic=887.0
