How much FAT & Water should we be consuming
« on: August 11, 2010, 08:56:35 AM »
Most plans will tell you how much water to drink.  I didn't see much info in the book.  Should we be drinking a lot of water? How much?

Also, how much fat generally should we be consuming daily, or is it just what we need/feel like within the carb limit.

Sorry, I am so brainwashed by Atkins that I'm used to cutting off my cheese at 3 oz and trying to find fat to add to my protein and feeling guilty when I don't drink my water.

What freedom this will be when I get the hang of FTS huh?

Thanks, Nic

Hi Nic....enjoy your cheese in moderation and remember most block cheese is carb free where shredded cheese is coated with potato starch to keep it from sticking. I eat a bit of cheese every day. We have 5 or six different varieties in the fridge. Cheese is one of those FTS foods that will take hunger away very very quickly. Fats will always do that. The truth is I think it's hard to over eat cheese on the FTS plan if you listen to your body and STOP when hunger is gone. As far as water goes you should drink as much as you want bearing in mind that you should certainly drink 32-64 ounces of "liquid" per day which includes all liquids. Water is a great source of hydration and keeps uric acid flushed from your system. Uric acid can cause some people to develop gout on high protein eating plans so it's good to keep it flushed out.
