Must...fight...the...urge....to....get...on...the scale!
« on: August 13, 2010, 08:13:55 AM »
I'm fighting the daily urge to hop on the scale....not much is happening there and I think anxiety is stepping in.  Thankfully the battery is low, so I'm not going to get a new one, lol.

I know I'm doing the right thing, I know my clothes are feeling much less snug and I KNOW that my belly is definitely flatter!

Now if I could just stop being so dependent on what the scale says.......

Help me fellow forum members, I'm fighting another addiction!

You're not alone...I've tried not to weigh myself daily either.  I check at night too so that I have a rough idea as to whether I'll be down in the morning.

A gain or staying the same will put me in a bad mood and frustrate me beyond belief and of course if I see a loss I'm happy.

It really is sick and I need to get rid of the scale too!

Oh thank goodness I'm not alone.
I step on it at night too Nic, its so silly, but I can't help it!
Jo, I feel your pain,
thanks all of you, you made me smile at least!
Gary, I think its just a real desire to be seeing results like yours!
I'm going with the no replacement of the battery theory and if not - the darn thing is going out in the shed!
Linda
PS, I bought a treadmill last night, am looking forward to a daily walk on that, in Brantford, Ontario its been so stickingly revoltingly humid every morning, I can hardly breathe if I walk outside.

The scales can give us good news and bad news.  I know it is better to weigh ONLY in the morning, but I am a member of this "club" too who probably weighs too often (even during the wee hours of the morning if nature calls) ready to see amazing results!  If I knew the scale battery "was low" I would replace it because I want to make sure I am getting a true reading.  To each his own.  But remember sister friends, that the men are going to lose quicker than we are.  In saying that, maybe we should designate only one certain day a week to check the scales -- at least try this for a few weeks.  Make it a great day!   :D

Looking at your picture -- doesn't look like you have too many pounds to lose?
Is this a current picture?  When "nature calls" was referring to a "tinkle" -- if you know what I mean !!!  People in their "late 50's" visit the restroom more than they would like!!!  Enjoy your youth and make it a great day!
