True newbie - started 12 minutes ago
« on: September 01, 2010, 12:13:56 AM »
Two weeks ago I was in Barnes & Noble and saw Doug's book on the shelf.  That cover picture really got my attention and I bought it.

Now here it is a few minutes past midnight on September 1, and I am at the beginning of this journey.  I am 5'9" and around 257, the fattest i have been in my life (47 years old).

I'm really not a newbie at losing weight; I've done it lots of times before.  This one sure seems like the logical way to get it off and keep it off though.

Looking forward to getting to know you guys better as I go from FAT to SKINNY!

Scott

Welcome scottinflorida!  You have come to the right place.  Doug's book has really changed our lives (thanks Doug & Umpa).  Everyone is so supportive on this forum.  You will find their encouragement and recipe ideas very helpful along the way.

Thanks everyone!  Great to get a nice warm welcome!

Today has gone pretty well so far.  For breakfast I had a couple of sausage patties, and lunch was a can of tuna and some turkey lunchmeat rolled up in cheese slices.  Had 24 almonds for an afternoon snack (2g net carbs), and tonight I am about to cook up some SPAM.  Should be well under 20g today.

One day at a time!

Scott

Oh yeah!  No carbs, and I think it tastes great (although I will admit I am the only one in my family of 4 that likes it).
