losing too fast
« on: September 05, 2010, 04:00:46 AM »
I have this fear of loseing weight too quickly as I am short and have over a hundred lbs to lose, I am scared that I will have flesh hanging every where, will this happen at 20 Net Carbs a day or could I up the amount of Net Carbs to around 30 or 35 to slow down the weight loss so there is less chance of this happening? I have lost 20 lbs so far over the lpast 4 months or so even with goofing. I love when I am faithful I feel so good and balanced. What can I do to minimize the hanging flesh? Thank You.

;D I remember going through the same concerns as the weight was pouring off me...over 100 pounds in 7 months! I found the body to be very forgiving and the skin very elastic. Losing weight too fast or slower won't make a difference... GET IT OFF! Stay at 20 carbs or less and let your body eat that FAT... when the weight is gone "Papa will have a brand new bag"  :o ;D That's what I told Sherri......, then I told her (and myself) I'd deal with it when I got there. What I ended up with was the need for body toning. I resolved the loose skin by refilling it with muscle. Simple dumbells, sit ups, push ups...you know the old high school gym stuff :0

I too have over 100 lbs. to lose and have had the same concerns.

When I was at my doctor's a few weeks back, he reminded my to keep DRINKING LOTS OF WATER (8+ glass per day) in order to achieve optimal weight loss and to maintain my skin's elasticity during weight loss. Coffee, tea, milk, soda pop, and other drinks DO NOT count.
Drinking enough water should eliminate the possibility of having loose flab after losing weight.

He said the vast majority of people are at least mildly dehydrated every day!
Dehydration is VERY bad for our bodies in many ways.
Proper hydration allows our bodies to effectively flush out toxins and carry out other functions necessary for our health.

After having a bout with kidney stones 12 years ago, I have been drinking between 8 - 12 tall glasses of water each day. Since then, not one more kidney stone problem! I also have not experienced any problems with dry skin.

You'll find as you lose weight your body will start to adjust, the skin will shrink back into place and your weight loss will trump any and every possible cosmetic result.  8)

I was worried about that too but I have found that our bodies are amazing and when I loose a few extra in a week it slows down and adjusts itself. So far I've lost 119 and I haven't had any problem with that yet. My Dr also said keep drinking your water and moisturize. One of the girls here on the site recommend Shea Butter and that works great.

It is a body moisturizer.  I use the Clinique Body Butter, but I'm sure anywhere that sells skin products has a product with Shea Butter in it.  Good stuff!
