OK..so, I have decided to move the goal posts on where I want to be with my health and my weight. I orginally just wanted to get below 200lbs. After dropping 15lbs in 3 weeks, I feel great! I, like most, was thrilled during the 3-4 days stretches when I lost multiple pounds, and then "feeling low" when I would go 3-4 days and not lose anything....but, I really accept it now...as long as I keep doing what I am doing, I will produce, ultimately, progress in the same direction. As a "former" athelete, I am not a huge fan of BMI. My hours in the weight room mean that I should weigh more than someone with a "marathoners build." I do, however, think I need a more advanced goal. So, today, I added another 15 lbs to my orginal goal. That is a 50lb total
weight loss. I want to be healthy. I have three daughters and a lovely bride. I owe them, and myself, my efforts at "good health."
A 50 lb loss will be a 22% decrease in my body weight. More important than an obsession with a particular number, I need to be healthy...and it is up to me....sooooo, I have updated my ticker - and my mindset.
I have a dear friend who introduced me to Doug's book. He has lost 45-50 lbs and will lose another 50 before his 50th birthday. He is my true friend and I am glad he talked with me about his efforts. He is such an inspiration to me.
