You are making a great choice!  Be healthy.  You can do this...it is not rocket science and it is not the hardest thing you have ever done in your life.  This is not dieting.  I am NEVER walking around with hunger pains!

congrats on making a good choice

3 days in and Ive lost 5 lbs already and Im only consuming 3 net carbs a day .... and Im not having hunger pains

Everyone here has been amazing, supportive, friendly and really helpful!!

W portion sizes for protein wait 15 mins after 1 serving .... you really do feel full ... I never realized how slow protein is in making you feel satisfied.

And try cheese crisps .. yum ... just bake cheese on a pan and scrap off and let cool .. its like yummy chips

GOOD LUCK (although you wont need it with this lifestyle change)

ive compared prices on netrition and dixie diner ... netrition seems to be cheaper and they carry all the dixie diner products (at lesser cost than dixie diner site itself) also if you spend $200 you get 5% off your order :)

Im a picky eater and Im only a few days in but so far

Lunch or Dinner options

grilled boneless chicken breast (6oz) w sprinkled cheddar cheese - 0 net carbs so I like this best

cheese cups or chips w spinach, cooked chicken and slice of strawberry - i eat a couple of these pretty low carb

Tonight Im making grilled shrimp and grilled calamari (no breading - just the squid) in a low sugar low carb pasta sauce

DOUG OR UMPA - I didnt see squid or calamari listed in book ... is this low net carbs??

snacks:

sugar free jello w limited fruit added or on side .... follow the book and only have 1/2 cup serving and also reddiwhip topping

or what i call cheese chips which i read somewhere i believe in one of the books ... just cook cheese on non stick pan until it browns then let cool and scrape off and they are chips

for quick bites I also have slice of pancetta rolled around thin slice of roasted red pepper

pancetta is a deli meat .... its in the same family as bacon ... its a pork product ... and much like prosciutto which is amazing .... both pancetta and prosciutto are cured pork cuts that have been dried and are spiced with salt, nutmeg, fennel, pepper and other spices.

you can cook both pancetta and prosciutto as well .... Im from an italian community so Im used to all the tasty homemade meats they make make my own but Im sure you can get prosciutto and pancetta at most grocery stores everywhere :)

believe me ... its delicious!! just watch how much u eat bc of high fat content and calories but still better than all the carbs and sugars u put in your body. remember moderation :)

Here's a tasty pancetta recipe for you :)

Fry the bacon in small cubes, when close to crispy add chopped red swiss chard and a rinsed package of Shirataki Tofu Noodles. Mix well and heat through. Top with a good grinding of Romano cheese and black pepper.............YUMMY!

Niki 3 grams for 4 ounces of raw squid. You don't have to go without the breading.Check out dougs videos.
KeKe you don't have to order everything from the web. There is a recipe section here on the forum that is about 15 pages. It is full of recipes you can make at home for pancakes, bread, muffins, baked beans ,cakes, pie, ice cream pie, etc. All the things you think you can't eat.My peanut butter ice cream pie is only 10 carbs for the whole pie! ;)

Niki, have you tried sauteing the calamari in butter, olive oil, and garlic with some oregano?  I think white wine is probably off the list, but a splash might be okay since the alcohol cooks out. A couple of drops of heavy cream could be added if you want to thicken it up.
