Part time?

Hi- I just finished reading the book. I was wondering if people have any success by doing No sugar/carbs part time? In other words, is it possible to have built in cheats every week? I would think that drastically cutting sugar and carbs on most days would still be beneficial, but I'm concerned I won't be able to do it 24/7. Just wanted to know people's experiences.

This is a life style change and you will lose some weight by getting rid of the sugar, but not nearly as quickly.  The point is that sugar is poison to the body and has all kinds of negative effects.  There are so many sugar free options to satisfy your sweet tooth, you really have to change your thought process and ask yourself why you would want to sabotage your own progress.

Just my 2 cents.

Hi Jx, the biggest problem with the concept comes down to breaking the sugar addiction. It's like only smoking or drinking on the weekends, eventually it turns back into a full time habit, just as sugar consumption will.

Welcome to the forum jx.  What we all enjoy about eating this way is the fact that we don't have those terrible craves that used to trip us up and we achieved this by totally giving up sugar.  But we don't give up the things we love, they are substituted with low carb alternatives.  There are lots of suggestions on the forum to replace our favourites so we have no reason to cheat because we are still eating what we love without  the high carbs or the guilt.  Good luck with your journey and jump in with both feet.
