Carbs and workouts
« on: November 06, 2010, 01:24:47 AM »
If I know I am going to a party or work function that I may be attacked and forced to eat more carbs could I workout all week before hand and have these kinds of situations at least balance out with my carb intake?

If you want to lose weight at a steady pace you will not blow it!..However if your willing to have to go through withdrawal like some folks do and gain a few pounds possibly just know what you did and accept it..I hope you do think about it first tho...

I agree, plan for the occasion.  One of the wonderful things about FTS is not having those nasty craves all the time which you would be ruining.  If you blow it this one occasion it will be that much easier to blow it another time and then you are on that viscous cycle and never accomplishing anything.  Think ahead of what may be there to tempt you and plan how you are going to avoid that temptation, like Beebs said, put a few things in your purse as backup in case there is not anything there for you to eat (and don't feel bad about pulling things apart and putting it on your own tortilla).  Good luck at your party!!  You will feel so empowered if you can conquer social functions and continue on your FTS journey.

Why would you choose to put yourself into that situation? Umpa and I never find ourselves in this position, we simply plan for it. We always bring FTS friendly food and beverages to any and all social events we attend. A cooler in the truck makes it simple. Exercise is wonderful and if you enjoy it keep it up for cardio, attitude, muscles and lungs....but....not so you can cheat  ;)
