I also just started Doug's plan. I started Thur and today is Sat. I already lost 4 lbs. Thur I worked out at the gym and I walk my dog 2-3 miles each day. I take insulin now but since I don't eat carbs, I don't have to take the Solar star. I am really liking this plan (not diet). I went to the store today and looked at Silk milk substitute. The label shows there is sugar added. They call it "evaporated cane juice", what a crock. The sugar industry is the enemy. They are killing our kids and old guys like me. Not anymore. I will not eat these foods. I looked at Lactose free milk too. Another disappointment. It should be labeled "predigested lactose" milk. They add an enzyme to break the lactose down into glucose and another sugar, but the sugar is still there.

Good luck to all you other "special" people, papalou

Hi, Well I started about 3 weeks with Doug book and I notice my blood sugar dropping each and ever day and week. Before Doug book my sugar was and can be any number. I was eating the wrong foods. At first I was waking up with blood sugar in the 90. Now there are in the 70. And the highest through the day been 120 at the most. You have to remember that different things can and well raise your blood sugars, like stress or getting up set.  So do not think that what you are doing is not working  because you read your blood sugar and it is high. I can not say when your blood sugar well turn back to normal because I'm new as you are. Thanks for letting me share.

Yes, you're a part of it. I was also thinking of some videos and comments about pork rinds and such..... and Umpa Loompa's funny comments!

The only cereal I would eat or feed to my kids is the cereals at Dixie Diner.Smaps is my favorite i think it is 2 carbs per serving plus one carb for the milk.It is crunchy like rice crispies.( I am tring to figure out a way to make rice crispy treats out of them)They also have granola cereals that are 4 carbs per serving. They are excellent!I have a question for you though,as you have reduced the sugar with your kids have you seen attitudes , concentration and sleep patterns improve?

I believe, in my case, it is still to soon to see any change....only been a couple weeks....and I am easing them off unlike myself cutting it as completely as I can...there is still much I have to learn in exchanging and reading and getting rid of out of the house....soon it will be completely poison free household! woo hoo!.... but just to say...the kids content in eating right and continue sleeping perfectly well and going to the bathroom regularly...
I will watch as we progress forward in the plan!

Could you use that waldens farms marshmallow creme to make rice krispies treats?
