Scott in Florida - 12 weeks
« on: November 24, 2010, 07:42:42 AM »
Last week was a brief plateau with a gain of .4, but this week the plummet continued with a loss of 2.8.  Total loss now is 31 pounds, and now I am looking forward to joining the Forty Pounds Lost Club!

Question for the group...does anyone know how to figure nutritional value on a McDonalds McChicken without the bun?  I have these sometimes but I am not sure how to count them.  They do seem to have a little breading.  At a dollar each they are a quick cheap lunch, and they don't seem to be hindering my progress.  I figure there must be a website somewhere that has the nutritional analysis of the meat alone.

Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!  Eat the turkey, leave the stuffing!

I use this for fast food all the time was you but one item you have to go back to clear it but it is very helpful . The Mcchicken sandwich with out the bread tylers doc told us to count 8 carbs for his insulin because the bun is like 30,hope this helps , Oh congrats on the weight loss !!!!

Hi Scott, glad to see the belt is getting looser :)

Here's the breakdown of McChicken, 10 carbs in the Patty alone and another 28 for the bun,  http://nutrition.mcdonalds.com/nutritionexchange/itemDetailInfo.do?itemID=4314

here's the patty ingredients;

Chicken (53%), Vegetable Oil (Rapeseed Oil), Water, Wheat Flour, Maize Starch, Maize Flour, Potato Starch, Modified Wheat Starch, Flavour Enhancer

Here is a link to download a McDonalds Nutrition fact sheet for all the foods- http://nutrition.mcdonalds.com/nutritionexchange/nutritionfacts.pdf

Wow!  No more McChickens for me!  That many carbs just isn't worth it.  Thanks for the info!
