Off the wagon....................
« on: December 28, 2010, 01:41:44 PM »
So after loosing 25 lbs... the holidays come around.  what a disaster.
I cant even get on the scale now. Dont want to know.
Why am I missing things like fruit and bread and stuff so much! Have to wonder if this lifestyle is for me....
just feeling yucky and depressed.

YOu are mising those things cause you fell off the wagon ,all those cravings came back . It will go away after 3-4 days if tyou just stick with it . I caved for 1 meal but not too bad ,but what is done is done ,dust off and get back on .
I am afraid the only other option will be to gain more weight . Well that would be the other option for me anyway .
I started and stopped 3 times in August before I finally got it .
I think for some of us  will  have a bad day or a bad meal but the difference is that it stops there !!
Good Luck for the New Year !

Hi thedaltons6!  :)

The holidays have proved very challenging to many of your fellow F2S family members.
For the most part, I managed to stay with it.
However, I ate more than I should have which has caused a weight loss plateau which I know will break soon.

The best way to deal with this is to just get back on the F2S wagon and move on.
You WILL lose that weight!!! Remember, you did it once!... You can do it again!

I believe one reason many of us have had problems at the holidays is that we smell the aromas (at our jobs or at other's homes) of some of those foods ("poisons") we used to enjoy. Aromas of fresh bread, rolls, or other wheat-flour based baked goods are among the worst offenders. They can trigger the desire to eat foods that are harmful to us.

Aromas can deceive!
As good as they smell, those foods will eventually KILL us if we let them.
One of the deadliest gasses known to man is cyanide gas.
It smells just wonderful like fresh roasted almonds... But will end your life in seconds!

We are sugar addicts and are much like alcoholics.
If we allow even a little sugar back into our systems, we could be inviting a full blown relapse of bad eating habits, weight gain, and health problems.

I hope these insights will help you stay on the F2S road to health and help you prepare for next year's holiday season.
I personally, will eat from smaller plates next year to help avoid overdoing it.
What you do today is what matters!

You can have fruit and you can make your own bread. If you will substitute for your nonhealthy cravings you can still have everything you want. That is why I have been living this lifestyle since April with no regrets.

Thedalton6 you can eat fruit. You have 20 carbs a day to spend if you want to spend them on fruit go ahead.Usually with fruit a small amount will satisfy you. When I want apples I just slice them very thin and eat them with cheese. ;)

Isnt it silly how we think we............I mean I, cant have something!!!
After a few days of thinking what happened was.....I got into a rut. We just kept eating the same things over and over and over and over again.
We just stepped back and got out the book again...It opened our eyes to new recipes.
Also, on another note....
I ate bad this weekend and could barely stand up in church toay from being dizzy.....blah....Its like before. You dont notice youa re feeling bad till you feel BAD!!!
Thanks for the positive words of encouragement.....
