Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
« on: December 28, 2010, 04:10:55 PM »
Hi FTS friends:

Been missing you all and hoped everyone had a great Christmas and will have a very happy and successful New Year!

I'm maintaining a size 8 with a little holiday indulgence but know it will come right off.  Ate a little more than I should ya know. lol  That has been my biggest challenge, discipline.  I thought I had it licked but with the stress of my new job and holidays, the SF candies and SF pumpkin pudding became my companions more often than they should have.  Portion control, Izze, portion control! lol  I need to find better ways to handle stress...it's just cards...it's just cards. lol

I hope everyone is doing well on your healthy journey and I hope to be on here a bit more now that things have calmed down some.  I will be on the road a great deal each week but more quality time at home.

Love you all!
Izze
Peace and blessings,

IzzeT

Welcome back izzet!  :)
We missed ya!

I too had portion control problems over the holidays.
It stopped my weight loss cold!

I think the problem was eating from those HUGE plates that folks use during the holidays.
A baseball size portion of food looks like an hors d'oeuvre on one of those monsters!
And if you stop loading them at a good portion size, you fear your host might think "Your plate looks so empty! Don't you like what I'm serving you?".

I've already spoken to my family and friends about this and they are understanding and supportive of my using smaller plates next year.
What you do today is what matters!

I think we all had trouble with portion control even though we were eating FTS friendly food.  At least we won't have to go through detox going back to our regular portion sizes.  Izzet I thought of you every time I saw a Hallmark commercial or received a Hallmark card.  Hopefully you can relax a little before Valentines Day arrives.

Mouseissue, we all have well meaning friends and family.  I actually had someone ask me "what, are you going to eat like this the rest of your life?".  My answer was, "yes".  I don't think they understand that we are not on a diet, that we have chosen to change our lives.

Good luck to everyone getting back to our regular routine.
