I took a quick look at the site and chose to look at the breads, specifically the Cinnamon net zero carb bagels. After looking at the ingredient list it's obvious to me that the manufacturer is lying on the nutrition label. That's enough of a sign for me about the site's credibility.

What exactly should I be looking for that enabled you to spot that the bagels weren't as low carb as stated?

The first thing that red flagged me was Oat Flour

Run the carb counts on the ingredient list. You have been taught to do the math.Just enter the ingredients into google.
