SherriPie Meal Plan 1/24/11
« on: January 24, 2011, 08:42:53 AM »
Would it be wrong of me just not to eat at all today? I have been sick for several days and the past three I have lost not even an ounce. That scale is becoming my enemy. The funny thing is I just have no appetite at all. The cold has made me not want to eat yet I am STILL NOT LOOSING!! Ahhhh!! Okay I'm done ranting.

So far today: (and I will update at the day goes)

Breakfast:
32 0z Diet Coke (still drinking it, very yummy)

Lunch:
Chicken salad: lettuce, chicken, guacamole (4 carbs)

Dinner:
Cheese hotdog wrapped in lettuce & side salad. (2 carbs)

Hi Sherri!  :)

I'm sorry to hear your not feeling well. :(

Don't be too concerned about your weight stalling while you're sick.

One of our bodies defense mechanisms shuts down fat burning when it senses a possible famine (even by not eating) and when we are ill to conserve energy reserves (i.e. fat) to fight the illness.

So don't worry about the scale for a while.
Focus on staying warm, getting rest, drinking plenty of liquids (especially water), and eat ONLY when you feel hungry. If you eat when your not hungry, your body may just put that extra energy into your fat cells.
What you do today is what matters!

Even if you are sick, you need to keep your electrolytes up. Sugar Free Jello (in the Jello cups in the refridgerator section) will do that and they are on FTS. Please don't let yourself dehydrate.

That's a great tip about electrolytes!
If they get too low, drinking water will not help much.

No matter how I feel, I always can do SF Jello!
I find it's very soothing when I don't feel well.

Yes my husband made me escape to Lime for lunch. I had a yummy chicken salad but coughed my head off.
I'm back home but really enjoyed the fresh air.

This cold/flu is just nasty and I am SO ready for it to be over.

There is a nasty cold bug going around the country since New Year's.
Everyone I talk to says that most everyone at their workplaces has it.

This particular bug causes very heavy viscous mucous in the sinuses.
This stuff will constantly drip into the throat causing a lot of coughing, day and night.
Most are saying it lasts about 2 weeks.

Hang in there Sherri!
You're not alone in this!
