« on: January 30, 2011, 09:41:35 AM »

Umpa and I use Stevita Stevia in individual packs. We buy them in quantities of 2000 from Amazon, here's the link

Are Stevia and Xylitol the only approved sweeteners?  What about Truvia? Eurythritol?

Also I notice most people eat SF Jello.  Isn't this made with Aspartame?

Truvia is a combination of Rebiana and Erythritol. Stevita is a combination of Stevia and Erythritol. All of these sweeteners are very low glycemic and are FTS approved.  Rebiana is actually derived from a part of the Stevia plant and Erythritol is extracted from fruit. Erythritol is used primarily in the mix to create a granular VS powder effect.

Remember to always cut out these and other sugar alcohols if your weight loss stalls, then slowly add them back into your program to discover if any of them effect you.  ;)

Thanks for the information, Doug!  Sounds great!

In response mmcooks1234's question about SF 'Jello' made with aspartame.... I asked the same question!  :)  I found that Hunts makes sugar-free jello (and pudding cups) that come in 4-packs and are made with Splenda for about $1.00. I purchased these at  Target and my local grocery store. They tasted fine and it's nice if you don't have time to make it from the mix. My feeling about the jello with aspartame is that --for me-- the aspartame is OK in small quantities.

Hi Doug,
Do you use this mostly for beverages?  Or can you use the Stevita Spoonable Stevia for cooking and baking also?  If not, what are your favorites for baking?

Thanks!
Kathy

Hi Kathy, good to hear from you. I use Stevia mainly for beverages and some cooking. When baking we primarily use Xylitol.
