count carbs and calories? or just carbs?

i'm on a low calorie, lower carb(80-90 net carbs a day) program. does the amount of calories consumed during the day matter? or is it just about keeping track of the carbs? i eat five small "meals" a day(which are the from the program i'm on), and one larger meal of a lean meat and low carb veggies. i lost about 7 lbs my first week, and between 2-5lbs after that. would i have greater weight loss on the fat to skinny program? i already bought fat to skinny book, but thought it was gonna be too hard to do. well i had gotten my cholesterol levels checked and they needed improvement. i know i can't go back to eating like i used to, and i'm tired of carrying around all this extra weight. i like having the simplicity of the meals from the program i'm on right not, but i'm just not loving the $300 price tag each month for the foods. i'm 5'5" and 215lbs. i'm looking to be around 140lbs. your advice would be greatly appreciated.

Read the FTS book and follow the plan as outlined, visit the forum often and realize that it's the reduction in carbs not calories that will ultimately get you to your goal. Pre-packaged food programs ALWAYS fail in the end because you simply can't eat that stuff for life. Learn the FTS secrets and you'll be good to go forever :)

Try less than 10carbs a day and see what happens? I have been doing that since Janurary and its been amazing. Dougs book made me hate not only sugar but also carbs. I really think their nasty.

Agreed, the umber 20 is a general number for most people to follow however others who are more sensitive to sugar may need to eat less than 20 per day to lose.
