This weekly weigh in was so depressing

I am soooooo confused... I have kept under 20 carbs a day, writing everything down and as per the scale, I gained 4 lbs.. I know that I sound stupid, but I had to leave the meeting cause I started to cry... Before, I could understand, but I have been so faithful...

The lady told me that it had to do with wearing jeans too.. I dont agree... what am doing wrong?  one or even 2 lbs gain, I blame it on the day's ups and downs, but 4!!!!!!!

Who is the lady you're talking about? Also the best time to weigh is when you get up in the morning. Use the bathroom and then weigh in. If you are weighing in late in the morning your weight will fluctuate especially if you have been eating and drinking and then try to weigh in. Try it again at home tomorrow morning without the jeans.

I had already paid for WW and since I had my hubby hide my scale, I figured, Thursday will be my weigh in... Sherrie, Im really so sad but I wont turn back...

Okay get your scale back and do it in the morning. I guarantee you'll see a big difference between what happened today and what will be in the morning. Let me ask you this, when did you weigh the time before? Was it mid morning too? After breakfast or drinking water and stuff? Because you need to weigh at the same time so that you can have a set point. If I went in and weighed now (not that i can since my husband hid my scale) I would be probably 3 or 4 pounds up from a weight I would have been fresh out of bed this morning. Between eating breakfast, several glasses of water and a huge diet pepsi plus all the clothes I have on. No way am I going to show a loss of any kind.

Sherri is right about this Alex!

The food, drinks, and water we ingest PLUS our clothing weighs something.

Last time I saw my doctor with a morning appointment, the nurse took my weight in the hall area and I was fully clothed.
Although I took off my shoes, coat, wallet, keys, I still weighed in 7 pounds heavier than I did that morning.

Maybe you could ask your husband to bring the scale back early in the morning before your weigh-in at home.
Weigh yourself BEFORE you get dressed and eat or drink anything.
Also, wear exactly the same thing (or nothing for more accuracy) each time you weigh-in.

Afterword, have your hubby hide the scale again.
DO NOT try to follow him while he hides it.

lol about the scale.. I will do that guys... I will designate a specific outfit for weigh in and weigh in that morning..

I feel better now after you guys told me this..I felt like a little kid, but you have to understand that I am soooo proud of my changes and detox that this just blew me away..

Alex, don't get discouraged! You're doing great and don't let the numbers on the torture device determine your path. Your clothes are fitting differently and you're feeling great, so you know you are doing things right. I agree that the jeans and the time of day impact the numbers. My doctor's appointments are always in the afternoon and I hate that! I always choose my clothes that day by seeing which ones are the lightest in weight, too! I NEVER wear denim or layered clothing on those days and I always wear shoes that I can kick off! It's a game.

In a way, we're all like little kids, Alex. ::)
We are all learning new things constantly... Although we often don't even notice it.

It amazes me how much I thought I knew about weight loss before FTS.
And how much more I learn constantly on this forum!

When you think about it, it's part of the exciting adventure we're taking toward a new healthier life!
Learning new things helps keep it fun and not boring.
Rejoice every time you learn something new.

And continue to be proud how your body is changing for the better.  :) :) :)

Yes Alex, I agree with the others, it's best to weigh yourself in the morning, after the bathroom, before coffee or breakfast.  Using a measuring tape is also good since sometimes the pounds are not coming off but you will see the inches melting off.  You are doing great.  Keep up the good work!!

I feel a huge difference, especially in the abnomal area and that is why I was so excited to get weighed today... Tony, you are right, so much to learn...

I dont know whose quote it is, but I recently read one that goes a little something like this...  i dont even remember where I saw it...

Thank you again.. I feel so dependent of you guys and I feel bad, but I really do need you guys support.. It keeps me on check and learning..

Oh Alex.... I want to make you a promise. If you stick to the program, forget about the scale and only weigh yourself once a month the numbers will keep dropping. Don't let weight fluctuations bum you out  ;) The system works for everybody but at different speeds. Hang in there kid we got ya  8)

Just stay the course Alex. We have all been there, gosh I am there now. Its been a week and I've lost not even an ounce BUT i did go down a pant size this week, so it all works out.

We just have to keep on going and the pounds will drop!
