Hidden carb counter
« on: February 09, 2011, 06:25:31 PM »
I bought  a new sausage today that has 0 carbs I looked at the ingredients and they looked ok  then I put it in the hiden carb counter to show tyler how something that says 5 carbs may really be 8 carbs and to my surprise the sausage came up as 3 carbs . I thought that yall my want to save this and put some of your foods into to make sure they are really o carb .

Also my question to Doug or anyone that knows is what do i go by the hidden counter or the package ? Should we check everything that says 0 carb? Wow I am just shocked !

Jo, I didn't even know there was such a thing, but I couldn't follow your link.
I've posted the one I found - is it the same one?

What gets me is that we are trying so hard and we believe that the packages are correct - only to find out this sort of "shennanigans" going on!
Thanks for sharing, I will be using that OFTEN!

Excellent find on the carb counters, Jo!  :)
I'm awaiting to hear Doug's opinion of them.

Nice link Jo. Those peeps are so sneaky on the labels. They are always trying to pass something by us. Most recently I bought Vlasic pickles. They said less than one carb on the label but when I got them home the serving size was half a spear. Who eats half a spear? Crazy!

I need the label info before I can answer the question. I only spent a few moments checking out the counter.
