I had a version of Owensmath's (I think) breakfast quiche thingy, made with bacon, green onion, red pepper, broccoli, zucchini, eggs and cheese.

It made 4 generous servings and I've had one for breakfast for the last 2 days and will so for the next 2 days

Oh, last night I made one that is sooo good!
I used a local sausage called Nantahala sausage. I browned the sausage with some onions. Then, put it in the bottom of an 8 x 8 in glass baking dish. I used a little heavy cream with my eggs and poured that over the sausage/onion mixture. Then, I steamed some asparagus and cut it into about 1/2 in pieces and put it in with the eggs and sausage. From a dinner we attended the other night, I had some sauteed veggies leftover and threw in some broccoli pieces. Last step: I added shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese on the top. I let it cook until the cheese was brown on the top.
Oh so yummy! I didn't add any seasonings at all because the sausage was so full of flavor that the dish didn't need it. I had a piece for breakfast and I'll be having some for lunch, too! so good!

drooling yet? LOL  (Sherripie, that's for you!)

Isopure Protein Drink (banana, pineapple, orange flavor) = 0 carbs
8 oz unsweetened Silk Almond milk  =  0 carbs
1 coffee w/cream  =  1 carb

                          HUH?????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*** Multi-vitamins  =  2 carbs  :o :o :o
*** Glucosamine-Chondroitin tablet = 2 carbs :o :o :o

I was shocked to the see the carbs in those vitamins!!!  Sheesh, we gotta watch everything that goes into the mouth, I guess!! ::) ::)

OMG there are carbs in our multivitamins!!?????
I just read my ingredients, no sign of carbs, but the non-medicinal ingredients said SUGAR!

I also take a Vitamin B 100 complex, but that didn't mention anything about sugar in the ingredients, still didn't have a carb count though!

How do we know if its not listed?

Does anyone know about the "hidden" carbs in multivitamins, or should I start a new post about it?

Hi ausgirl!  :)

Go ahead and start a new post.
I am very curious what Doug's thoughts are on this and how we can identify those "hidden" carbs.

Thanks!
Tony

Umpa and I had a brunch today for 10 people at our home. We served two kinds of quiche, sausage/veggie and just veggie. They were made in large baking dishes 10 eggs each. I separated the eggs and beat the whites stiff before adding back the yolks (also beaten) and the core ingredients. This brought rise to the recipes and they held up well for an hour after cooking at room temp. Everyone enjoyed them , we put fresh strawberries on the side.  8)
